New Impetus for Even More Drive

"40 Years of Automobile Passion":
Essen Motor Show Will Celebrate its Anniversary

On December 1 - 9, 2007:
Global Fair for Automobiles, Tuning, Motor Sport and Classic Cars

The Essen Motor Show will celebrate its anniversary: In 2007, it will go to the starting line at Messe Essen for the 40th time: On December 1 - 9, the global fair for automobiles, tuning, motor sport and classic cars will once again be the meeting place of automobile passion. The annual automobile fair with the highest number of visitors in Germany will provide new impetus on its round birthday. Fresh ideas will ensure even more drive for the most multifaceted automobile fair anywhere in the world.

Easier Orientation Due to Modified Structuring of the Range on Offer

Modified thematic structuring of the individual groups of the range on offer will guarantee quick orientation for the visitors and will allow the exhibitors to reach their target groups of visitors in a selective way. For example, Hall 3 will form the platform for vehicle manufacturers presenting their new products - from small cars to super sports cars. The exhibition in Halls 1 and 2 will focus on original equipment suppliers and on the fields of tyres, wheel rims, chassis and accessories.

World's Largest Tuning Show in Eight Fair Halls

No fewer than eight halls (4, 5, 7, 8, 9, 10, 11 and 12) will bear the motto "Tuning and Accessories". The world's largest tuning show will be jam-packed with the range on offer on the global market for more automobile individuality and sportiness. Members of Verband Deutscher Automobil Tuner (the "Association of German Automobile Tuners") will once again present themselves in the noble ambience of the "Tuning Salon" in Halls 10 and 11.

Oldtimers and Classic Cars

Not only noble antique car rarities and youngtimers but also a wide range of oldtimer spare parts and accessories on offer will be the centre of attention in the accustomed place in Hall 6 as well as in the upstairs halls (6.1, 8.1 and 9.1). "80 Years of 1000 Miglia" will be the subject of a special presentation about the history of the long-distance road race first staged in 1927.

"Essen Showground" in Hall 1 A: Action, Party and Bizarre Things

Action, party and bizarre things will be promised by the new concept for Hall 1 A: The "Show Center" will turn into the "Essen Showground" - an automobile party zone. Not only will the lowriders dance here but the most extraordinary private vehicles will also be honoured in car cruizer competitions. In the limelight too: dragsters, show cars and show bikes, art and sound cars as well as the most beautiful noble bikes from the bikers' meeting in Daytona in 2007. The programme will be rounded off by various events.

Special Subject:
"40 Years of International Automobile Racing"

The main special show subject "40 Years of International Automobile Racing" will be presented in Hall 7. In analogy to the 40-year duration of the fair until now, racing vehicles which have caused a sensation in the last four decades will be on display. They made automobile history in the Formula 1, sports car, touring car, CanAm and Indy categories.

Pioneering Automobile Design

Automobile creations from the world-famous styling companies and automobile manufacturers will be presented in Hall 1 - Concept cars representing the haute couture of automobile construction.

Formula 1: The Latest Racers

The latest racers from the elite class of automobile racing, Formula 1 in 2007, will be exhibited in a special show in Hall 5. This will be a presentation of the high-tech racing cars with which the best drivers contested the World Championship title.

Motor Sport Mile: Meeting Place for Active Racers and Fans

In 2007, Messe Essen will devote even more attention to the subject of motor sport. The "Motor Sport Mile" in the Galeria will be extended. Companies, motor sport associations and race organisers will make the Galeria the meeting place for fans and active racers. Here, one particular highlight will be the new Motor Sport Innovation Forum in which new technical developments for racing will be introduced.

Trade Visitor and Press Day on Friday, November 30

In order to achieve an even higher presentation density, the duration of the fair will be compressed from ten public days to nine (December 1 - 9, 2007). The first day of the fair will be preceded by the Trade Visitor and Press Day. On Friday, November 30, the Essen Motor Show will be open from 9 a.m. to 7 p.m. exclusively for journalists and experts. The official opening ceremony will also take place on that day. The opening times on the public days: Monday to Friday from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m., Saturday and Sunday from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m.

Germany's Number-One Motor Sport Fair:

At Full Speed on the Anniversary

Motor Sport Mile -
The Heart of the Fair Will Beat in the Galeria

The heart of the Essen Motor Show will beat here: In the Galeria which, as the Motor Sport Mile, will become the hot spot of the entire racing scene. Not only the motor sport associations Deutscher Motor Sport Bund (the "German Motor Sport Federation") and Deutscher Sportfahrerkreis (the "German Sports Driver Circle") but also the Nürburgring and companies involved in motor sport will be represented. After the successful premiere of the Motor Sport Mile last year, there will be one more new feature on the 40th anniversary of the Essen Motor Show: As a platform for the presentation of technical innovations in the field of motor sport, the new "Motor sport Innovation Center" will supplement the range on offer in the Motor Sport Mile.

New: MOTOR SPORT Innovation Center

In the MOTOR SPORT Innovation Center, a presentation of innovative products and new developments from the field of motor sport is planned throughout the period of the fair - For the expert motor sport public, for sponsors and for fans. On the Trade Visitor and Press Day, the MOTOR SPORT Innovation Center will be the central meeting place and communication forum for the expert motor sport world - For racing teams, product developers and know-how service providers.

Experience Racers and Stars at Close Quarters

At the Essen Motor Show, the fans will be able to experience racers, racing series and stars of the horsepower world at close quarters. Even outside the Motor Sport Mile, a lot of things at the Essen Motor Show 2007 will revolve around motor sport: Numerous spectacular exhibits will once again promise an unadulterated motor sport feeling. Particular highlight: A special show of the latest Formula 1 vehicles in the 2007 season. The live conversion of a production vehicle to a racing car will also be sensational. The main show subject on the occasion of the anniversary fair: "40 Years of International Automobile Racing".

New:
"Essen Showground" - Action, Party and Bizarre Things

One important new feature at the Essen Motor Show 2007 will relate to Hall 1A: The traditional Show Center will turn into the "Essen Showground" - The ultimate automobile party mile. Action and absolute fun will be on the agenda, with a mix of breathtaking dance shows, fun and games. Joining-in will be the order of the day. Because, at the Essen Motor Show 2007, the visitors will be able to become active themselves in numerous events.

The stage programme in Hall 1A will be rounded off with hip-hop, freestyle and other weird attractions. For example, dancing vehicles will arouse the enthusiasm of the automobile-mad visitors in the G.L.C.A. Lowrider Show. Even now, the fans of the car cruizers may be curious. New vehicles of a particular kind have been announced here too.

One thing is already certain now: In Hall 1A at the Essen Motor Show, things will get really lively in December 2007 when a gigantic party is staged on the subject of show cars, bizarre automobiles and horsepower. On a few days, the Essen Showground will even be open after the end of the fair and will thus be proclaimed as the new party meeting place of the city.

In the anniversary year, the special subjects of design studies, Formula 1 and racing will be presented at new locations in Halls 1, 5 and 7.

New at the Essen Motor Show: "Ladies Corner"

For quite a long time, passionate car driving has no longer been a male domain. At the Essen Motor Show, many women obtain information about the newest automobile trends from the manufacturers, component suppliers, tuners and equipment suppliers. According to VDA (Verband der Automobilindustrie - the "Association of the Automobile Industry"), ever more new cars are being bought by women. The feminine taste is also playing a major role in joint purchases by couples and families. With the "Ladies Corner", the Essen Motor Show is taking account of the rising number of female visitors enthusiastic about automobiles.

"Ladies Corner" will be located directly in Hall 1 next to the associations and institutions. A lounge booth with a coffee bar, info and children's play corners as well as Internet access and a relaxation area will be intended to invite female visitors to chat and rest there. And after a delicious cappuccino, the ladies will then, in a refreshed condition, continue their hunt for automobile highlights and "accessories".
