*Preview and Press Day on 29 November 2019

After last year’s great success, the 38th Classic & Prestige Salon at the Essen Motor Show will again occupy two of the eight halls in 2019: On around 17,000 square metres in Hall 1 and Hall 2, the classic car exhibition in the PS Festival documents that it is one of the most important pillars of Germany’s largest annual motor show. This year’s show for “Automobiles, Motorsports, Tuning, Classics, Show & Action” is again expected to attract around 350,000 visitors – enthusiasts with passion for powerful, individual and historically significant automobiles.

With the impressive appearance of the Classic & Prestige Salon, the 52nd Essen Motor Show demonstrates the great importance of the subject of classic cars at the end of the season at the PS Festival. Those interested in classic cars will find the quintessence of the international range of vintage cars, young classic automobiles, motor sports and classic and prestige cars in the more than 250 cars from renowned dealers such as Brabus Classic from Bottrop, Germany.

In addition to high-quality classic cars, the Classic & Prestige Salon also presents numerous affordable classic and young classic automobiles: the BMW Isetta (“Bubble Car”) is on show just as the indestructible VW Beetle, the Fiat Cinquecento or the Opel Kadett. For almost every taste there is a suitable offer.

Since 1982, Germany’s oldest classic sales salon has developed into a showcase for the vintage and young classic automobile scene and an attractive, high-level trading venue for classic cars. Lovers of historic automobiles will discover everything that belongs to their hobby: accessories, services, tools, literature, model cars, art, automobilia and club presentations.

The main attractions of the Classic & Prestige Salon will again be the special shows of the organiser S.I.H.A. A large presentation of exclusive supersports cars from the last five decades is a fascinating event in Hall 1. Particularly spectacular: In co-operation with FordStore Hagemeier from Halle, Germany, S.I.H.A. ensures enthusiasm among connoisseurs with a copy from each of the three generations of the legendary Ford GT 40. Super sports cars such as the first built Koenigsegg or a Bugatti EB 110 to mark the 110th anniversary of the Bugatti brand and the Bugatti Chiron make the sports car show an incomparable event.

The second special show in Hall 2 shows spectacular cars that played leading roles in film or television. The “Tumbler” from the film “Batman Begins” from 2005 will cause a sensation in Essen. For friends of German films the tuned Opel Manta appears, which is one of the stars in the film “Manta, Manta” together with Til Schweiger. The legendary De Lorean with “flux capacitor” from the film trilogy “Back to the Future” is another one. Furthermore, the legendary K.I.T.T. (“Knight Industries Two Thousand”) – a modified black Pontiac Firebird Trans Am, which can think, talk, drive automatically and plays one of the leading roles in the American TV series “Knight Rider”. …3

The racing series “Touring Car Legends” celebrates its premiere at the Classic & Prestige Salon. Established in January of this year, the initiators have so far staged six races with touring cars from the 1980s and 1990s – including stars such as Ellen Lohr and Klaus Ludwig. Motto of the racing series: “Racing with friends”. The touring car special show at the Classic & Prestige Salon features cars such as the Audi V8, the Mercedes-Benz 190 2.5-16 Evo 1 and Evo 2, plus a hot Fiat Ritmo, an Alfa Romeo 75 and other rarities.

Visitors to the trade fair will experience another major premiere in Hall 1:
HP professional and tuner Sidney Hoffmann presents with his new classic division, unique automobiles in the typical Sidney Industries look – among others a Nissan Skyline GTR, a Porsche 964 and 993 as well as a VW Golf I. An appearance which will inspire the fans of tuned and refined classics and young classic automobiles.

In order to give the international classic dealers an additional incentive to present only the best of their range in Essen, there will traditionally be a Concours d’Elégance again this year. A jury of internationally renowned classic car experts will select the most interesting car from the dealer range as “Best of Show”.

This makes the Classic & Prestige Salon at Europe’s largest annual motor show a season finale and more than ever an absolute must for established connoisseurs and rookies alike, and at the same time a foretaste of the world show for classic automobiles – the 32nd Techno-Classica Essen in March of next year.
