For the third time, both traditional brands Bentley and Bugatti, which belong to the Volkswagen Group, design a joint performance in hall 7 - this year themed like the motto of the holding company "Sportiveness and Elegance". The individual exhibits were not specified when this publication went to press, however, on the occasion of the Europe premiere of the new Bentley Continental GT V8 with a four-litre V8 engine at the Genève Automobile Show a few days before TECHNO-CLASSICA, Bentley plans not only to show the new car in Essen, but also use it to build the bridge to the glorious racing past. This is because the new car carries the genes of the Bentley racing cars. Also the winning car of the 24 Hours of Le Mans 2003 was fueled by a four-litre V8 engine - however with different construction features - and achieved two wins. Also the legendary Blower Bentley, which caused a furore especially in 1930 in Le Mans, got their power from chargers, just as the new Continental GT V8; formerly with compressors instead of the more recent turbocharger technology. Bentley
will disclose in February, which of the ancestors will decorate and accompany
the new Bentley, which quasi-celebrates its Germany premiere. Also Bugatti probably
will then provide details on the exhibits presented on the occasion of TECHNO-CLASSICA. |
