| Techno Classica Essen March 26 - 30 2008. VIP, Preview day March 26. 20th
TECHNO-CLASSICA ESSEN from 26 to 30 March 2008: FERRARI It is the third time already that Ferrari presents itself with an attractive factory exhibition stand in hall 3 of the TECHNO-CLASSICA. The main focus of the Ferrari performance is placed on the 40th birthday of the Ferrari 365 GTB/4 Daytona. To mark this occasion, the manufacturer of sports cars from Maranello presents at least one model of the twelve-cylinder sports car, which was thrillingly styled by the Ferrari's corporate designer Pininfarina with long shaped shark nose, a cockpit placed way back and a curved roof line. During the almost five years of its manufacture, the factory in Maranello sold 1,284 exemplars of the then fastest car of the world, according to the British magazine "Autocar". The maximum speed was 280 kilometres per hour. For automotive connoisseurs of cast iron, the Daytona with its 352 HP 4.4 litres V12 engine still is the most spectacular representative of old front engine glory by Ferrari with 12 cylinders. Next to the Daytona, Ferrari presents the history department "Ferrari Classiche", established in the year 2006 in the Maranello plant. The department Ferrari Classiche ensures the value retention of historic Ferrari vehicles by restoration, revision and maintenance. The certification of authenticity is another important objective of this department. All vehicles older than 20 years as well as all racing cars including Formula 1 vehicles independent of their year of construction are able to be certified. Ferrari Classiche also takes care for the spare part supply. If no original spare parts should be available, Ferrari is able to reproduce on request the spare parts required for the repair of a historic Ferrari and deliver them with the appropriate drawings or procure them via an authorised supplier. In order to build the bridge from the classic to modernity, Ferrari will present a special highlight from the current model range also at the TECHNO-CLASSICA. The details however have not been available by the editorial deadline of this press release. |
