20th TECHNO-CLASSICA: World's Largest Classic Show - Stage of Automotive Industry

Already at the first TECHNO-CLASSICA in the year 1989, some automobile manufacturers have discovered the potency of a striking presentation of their history at the world's largest classic fair - based on the key sentence of one of the most renowned German economists: "Those brands who can look back to a long tradition and an interesting history have a clear advantage in competition", said Professor Dr. Willi Diez, professor at the Nürtingen university of applied sciences in the automotive economy branch of studies since 1991 and since 1995 the head of the Institute for Automotive Economy in Geislingen, thus describing the result of many well-founded research studies. However he limited this conclusion: "Provided that they recognise and utilise the history as a source of brand identity. Particularly in the automotive industry there are many ways to do this."

One of these ways leads - via the TECHNO-CLASSICA - directly into the hearts of automotive enthusiasts.

Most German - and also some European automobile manufacturers - have adopted this principle and have identified their tradition as a useful instrument to shape their brand profile. They intentionally utilise their tradition for strengthening or creating a positive image - always successfully.

The TECHNO-CLASSICA offers the automobile manufacturers the optimal stage for the presentation of their history, their traditions and the technical acquirements developed in the past until today. Those manufacturers presenting themselves and their history at the leading fair of the international classic scene can be sure of one thing: the meanwhile more than 150,000 visitors are fascinated by the performance of the industry, which mostly is arranged in an exciting, informative and entertaining way. Due to this inspiring subject it is easy for the manufacturers to achieve consistent and positive effects - and to build the bridge to modernity: "Those were the good old days…" - with this attitude classic enthusiasts come visiting the TECHNO-CLASSICA and often even transfer their enthusiasm to the new cars, which are always presented in connection with classic vehicles.

This year, too, the TECHNO-CLASSICA again is the world's largest classic showplace of the Automotive industry: no other historic event presents the classic departments of the automobile industry as extensive and attractive as the TECHNO-CLASSICA. All major German automobile manufacturers are presenting interesting historic topics during the five days of the fair and also important European automobile companies have recognised that their presence at the TECHNO-CLASSICA is an important factor in shaping their brand. Partly they present themselves in close cooperation with German clubs at the classic world fair.

Bentley, the traditional British brand, is celebrating a premiere this year: the automobile manufacturer which belongs to the Volkswagen group since ten years, is initially represented with an own brand exhibition stand. Also new in the circle of the industrial exhibitors at the TECHNO-CLASSICA: the independent VW brand Volkswagen Nutzfahrzeuge (VW commercial vehicles). The company from Hanover dedicates their elaborate presentation to the VW delivery van.

Not all automobile manufacturers have yet finally completed their planning for the coming TECHNO-CLASSICA - however, the most important topics are already determined. They are so interesting that an exhaustive glimpse into the planning is worthwhile - the concepts on exhibition stands and topics of the automobile manufacturers are described on their respective webpage.
