20th TECHNO-CLASSICA ESSEN from 26 to 30 March 2008:
The Classic Fair of the Superlatives

Peugeot

Exhibition hall 4 of the TECHNO-CLASSICA is the most important destination of Peugeot enthusiasts: the brand with the lion has again designed a large stand in traditionally close cooperation with the clubs associated in the umbrella association of the brand, "Amicale Peugeot Deutschland". The dominant topic in this year: the anniversary "25 Years of Peugeot 205".

Peugeot launched the 205 in the year 1983 as successor of the 104 and produced almost 5.3 million vehicles until the end of production in 1998 as two-door models, four-door models, convertible as well as box wagon with engines from 45 HP to 200 HP (in the 205 turbo 16). In Germany the 205 offered until 1996 is still the most successful Peugeot of all times with a total of 422,318 registered vehicles. And even 10 years after the end of sales the stock of this trendsetter still is impressive: 67,694 exemplars of this trend-setter have still been registered in Germany at 1 January 2007.

However, the ravage of time attacks also this small French car, so that the stock is continuously decreasing. According to documents of the German Federal Bureau of Motor Vehicles, 111,125 vehicles were registered in Germany at 1 January 2005 and the stock dropped to 79,712 already at 1 January 2006. Well preserved exemplars of the Peugeot 205, particularly the sports models GTI and CTI thus are requested more and more not just by Francophile collectors.
