The Worlds Greatest Classic Car Show

March 21 - 25 2012

Essen, Germany

2011 Event - 178,300 visitors from 41 countries! 1200 exhibitors from 28 countries! Over 110,000 square metres of exhibition floor space in 17 halls! Approximately 2500 automobiles for sale! Over 130 presentations from clubs and museums!

In 2012, the company Dr. Ing. h.c. F. Porsche AG will for the first time install their factory exhibition stand in hall 7 - and celebrate "40 Years of 911 Carrera RS". The jubilee garland will be made up by five vehicles - from the Porsche 911 Carrera RS to the 911 Carrera RSR to the Porsche 911 of the current 991 series.

The Porsche Carrera RS, which originally was planned only as a special series of 500 examples, was a so-called homologation car based on the 911 in order to receive homologation as a racing car. Thanks to consistent lightweight construction, this 911 sports car version with a 210 HP 2.7 litre six-cylinder boxer engine has a weight of just 975 kilograms and accelerates in only 6.3 seconds from zero to 100 km/h. Due to the unexpected success in sales, the first edition was extended by more than 1,000 vehicles, so that finally 1,590 cars (1,308 RS-Touring, 217 RS-Sport, 55 RSR 2.8 Group 4 and 10 prototypes) left the factory. The original "RS" 2.7 litres, called "ducktails" due to its characteristic rear spoiler, is the ancestor and the starting basis of all later successful 911 racing variants up to the legendary 935...
Porsche Classic will provide information on the spare parts supply with 35,000 original parts in their product range and show some of the newly produced spare parts which are now included in the product range. The comprehensive spare parts supply will be displayed by means of a high rack warehouse, similar as in 2011.

The Porsche exhibition area with a size of 620 square metres will also demonstrate Porsche Classic's restoration competency for classic Porsche series vehicles: A vehicle, which currently is in the Classic workshop, will be on display on the temporary Porsche factory area at TECHNO-CLASSICA in hall 7.

Also Porsche Exclusive & Equipment, the Porsche Design Driver´s Selection with the sales truck as well as the Porsche Museum will impressively present their offers and services at the exhibition stand of Porsche Classic. The Porsche Classic clubs continue to be in hall 3 with the following clubs on display:
Porsche-Diesel Club Europa e.V..
Porsche Club 356 Deutschland e.V.
Porsche Club für den klassischen 911 Rhein/Ruhr e.V.
Porsche 914-6 Club e.V.
