20th TECHNO-CLASSICA ESSEN from 26 to 30 March 2008:
The Classic Fair of the Superlatives

SEAT

The Spanish automobile manufacturer SEAT (Sociedad Española de Automóviles de Turismo), belonging to the Volkswagen group since 1986, is represented with an own exhibition stand for the third time at the TECHNO CLASSICA - as already last year in exhibition hall 7 jointly with the other brands of the VW group. This year's topic is "25 Years of SEAT international" - SEAT is celebrating the export of the Spanish automobiles abroad started in 1983 and the simultaneous separation from Fiat.

With the SEAT Ronda, one of the five automobiles presented at the stand with a size of about 300 square meters, the Spanish brand shows the first SEAT model leaving Spain as an export car - by the way, the destination was The Netherlands. The SEAT Fura was placed on the market at the same year as the Rondy type. It symbolises the transformation of the model 127 into a car, representing the new style of the SEAT brand since its dissociation from Fiat.

The third exhibit is the SEAT Ibiza Copa: SEAT Ibiza was the first car which was completely developed by SEAT as an independent and entirely Spanish brand. The SEAT exhibition stand shows the sportive variant of the Ibiza, named Copa, which caused a furore in the SEAT Ibiza Copa racing series. The SEAT Malaga being the fourth automotive exhibit is a representative for the high-class models of the SEAT brand, produced since 1985.

A specialty at last is the SEAT Panda "Popemobile": 1982, when pope John Paul II visited Spain for the last time, a special fabrication of a SEAT Panda was ordered. This SEAT Panda "Popemobile" was used by pope John Paul II during bhis entire stay in Barcelona. This individual vehicle is one of the highlights of the SEAT exhibition stand, where a second anniversary will be celebrated: SEAT is celebrating its 25th birthday in Germany.
