Volkswagen Commercial Vehicles present themselves for the fifth time at TECHNO-CLASSICA. The brand is again on display on approx. 500 square metres, directly adjacent to the Volkswagen automobile exhibition stand in hall 7. The VW microbus will be 65 years of age this year and accordingly, the Hannover company offer a real sensation: In the future, the vintage car division "Volkswagen Nutzfahrzeuge Oldtimer" (vintage commercial vehicles) will offer restoration of historic Volkswagen commercial vehicles ex factory - including factory warranty and comprehensive photo documentation - and displays this in a live restoration. Seven vehicles will be on display at the exhibition stand of "Volkswagen Nutzfahrzeuge Oldtimer" - among them probably a T2 a/b, a T3 with a Porsche engine, the legendary B32 and a small van of the type 147 called "Fridolin". Also one of the first Caddy will be presented at the exhibition stand: The workhorse based on a Golf was launched in 1982 in the European market, initially as a pickup. 30 years later, the Caddy has become firmly established as a market leader in the segment of the compact vans; there even are taxi versions: whether for the young family, the craftsman or as a city delivery van - the Caddy has an ever-increasing fan community: more than 1.5 million examples have been sold up till now. Reason enough to properly celebrate the 30th birthday of this model. One of the spectacular eye-catchers at the exhibition area of Volkswagen Commercial Vehicles could also be a Becks microbus true to the original. Volkswagen Nutzfahrzeuge Oldtimer has acquired the red and white VW microbus, a T1 box wagon of 1964, for the historic fleet. It previously belonged to an entrepreneur from Bremen, who had built it up with loving care and lots of effort. The microbus with the old Becks slogan "Beck´s Bier löscht Männerdurst" is equipped with a bar and a working tap system. An original Westfalia trailer also belongs to it. The Becks microvan is supposed to quench the thirst of all vintage car fans: Volkswagen Commercial Vehicles will serve non-alcoholic beer, soft drinks and coffee to visitors. Also the legendary curry sausage will be available: this time, the curry sausage microvan will be positioned in front of hall 7. |
